Rusher Roger’s weekly wrap-up report on what’s happening in the world of Rusher Rogers, our clients, our candidates and the recruitment market.
This week I have been knee deep screening technical applicants for a couple of support roles I am recruiting for. This can be challenging in itself, but what has really stood out for me and what would be extraordinarily helpful, is an explanation of what each organisation does. Sounds simple doesn’t it? This vital piece of information creates a world of difference.
Sometimes we can be so immersed in our own worlds its easy to forget that the person reading our CV, potentially doesn’t share this familiarity and might not have one single clue as to who or what CRX P/L is. It’s all about making your information as clear and easy to understand as you can, so that we get the right impression, and quickly. I found that I was constantly in and out of Google just to find out what on earth CRX P/L were, effectively tripling my time to review CV’s. Just because you are familiar with this information doesn’t mean everyone else is. So the big tip for all of those candidates wanting to improve their resume; introduce your employer so that it looks something like this for each role you list in your Employment History:

A word from our temp desk:
With summer fast approaching, we find ourselves with an influx of enquiries from candidates who are visiting Australia on Working Holiday Visas and keen to enter the Australian job market for roles that can accommodate the 6-month limitation on workplaces. This makes them an ideal candidate for temping. We have found candidates on Working Holiday Visas to be extremely reliable, endlessly flexible and incredibly popular with clients we place them with.
Given that motivation for being here mainly surrounds earning enough money to enjoy the beautiful scenery Australia has to offer, you’ll often find WHV temps are vastly over-qualified for the roles they work within, which can bring new skills and a fresh perspective to your business that you may have not known you needed.
If you could use interim support where you work, get in touch with Claudia about temps today.
