Well we are almost at the end of the financial year and winter has well and truly arrived. We are at a time in the year where many businesses reflect on the year that was, and are busy finalising budgets for the 2017/18 period ahead.
So what sort of a year has it been?
For many of our clients it has been a period of growth throughout this financial year. In talking to various colleagues in the sector, recruitment, particularly on the permanent front seems to be booming. Sometimes growth in recruitment activity is limited to your own unique set of clients which happen to be concentrated in a specific sector, but because our Team work with such a broad range of clients across the NFP, Legal and Corporate sectors, that breadth is a good reflection as to what’s actually happening in the job market. My conversations over the weekend with a number of recruiters only confirm that our own manic recruitment activity is being experienced by many across the sector. The question is how long will it last?
When I read articles like this one published earlier in the week by The Age, I start to get a little concerned:
The perm job market can change overnight. I would be really interested in other people’s experiences and predictions about the job market too?
