Only 3 full working weeks until most of us turn our focus to family, holidays and Christmas celebrations amongst other things. Most organisations seem to be unofficially or officially finishing up the calendar year from EOB Friday 21st December. Organisations are either completely closing for the holiday break or operating, (as we are), on a skeleton staff until the first working day back in the New Year, Wednesday 2nd January 2019. And while focus may be on the wane where work is concerned with a ‘just make it to Xmas’ survival mode I emphasise that from now until mid to late January is a great time to look for a new job or attract an ideal candidate. I like to call it an annual ‘honeymoon period’.
Certainly, with the run up to Xmas, most of us are busy trying to meet a whole range of professional and personal deadlines, but if somewhere in the back of your mind you are thinking about changing jobs, you do not have to leave it until you have some head space after Xmas. As an agency many of our clients are engaging us now to work on roles with a 2019 start, so your own holiday plans will never be at risk. There are plenty of opportunities to set up a brand-new role before you go on leave so you can really relax looking forward to what 2019 will bring. So I encourage both job seekers seeking a new role and organisations seeking to fill new roles to keep the pedal to the metal in the lead up to Xmas so you can hit the ground running in the New Year.
A big thank you to Doxa Youth Foundation for the opportunity to be involved as a mentor for the Future Insights program. This fabulous program assists students who have faced barriers and challenges and through the support of Doxa, these students gain skills that will support them to complete their higher education. 60 students participated in this program, of whom I met 7 amazing, intelligent and motivated young adults who had completed either their first or second year of tertiary studies. I love the support network that Doxa provides for these very worthy recipients and left the session on Saturday full of hope and inspiration for this impressive group of students. I enthusiastically look forward to being involved with the great work Doxa do in 2019.

A Word From The Temp Desk:
This morning was a great welcome back into the office with the RR Temp desk booming! The past week we have had a range of different roles hitting our desks and as always our Temp Professionals have been rearing to go.
With Christmas fast approaching the Rusher Rogers temp team have been organising visits out to clients over the next few weeks to thank our Temp Professionals for all their hard work over the year and to celebrate the start of the festive season.
Christmas is a busy time in the RR office so as a Temp Professional you need to remember to be readily available, prompt in your responses and keep us informed with any leave or change in availability in advance. With a range of roles coming in we need all our Temp Professionals information to be up to date and accurate, so we can contact the right people for the right positions.
