This week has clearly demonstrated why we work with the clients that we do. It comes down to shared values and a genuine commitment to a mutually respectful partnership and genuine care for our shared workforce, be they temp, perm or contract. I received an early morning call from one of these clients who out of respect and inclusion wanted to keep their agency in the loop with a security breach experienced by the organisation to make sure that our part-time temp was OK. He went onto explain that an organisation wide debrief would happen to allay any fears held by staff which included our part time temporary employee. WOW, that’s duty of care and respect for the relationship between our two organisations.
There are also others who mobilise our services, place demands on a 24 hour turnaround for ‘urgent’ needs, with asap starts. This is perfectly fine because this is what we do. We deliver but sometimes it unfolds that our understanding of an ‘asap’ start can be different to others understanding of an immediate start and the role ends up disappearing all together. All of this is pretty much business as usual as we sway with the ebbs and flows of client needs BUT it’s extremely important to understand that for a temp, time is money or worse, a missed opportunity.
We are extraordinarily lucky though to work with clients that understand and respect what it takes to get candidates lined up and focused on an urgent temporary role, who take them into the fold of their own organisations and look out for their welfare while they are employed with them and for this we are extremely appreciative.

A Word From The Temp Desk
First week of the new financial year and the temp desk is busy with activity. Again the temp roles coming across the desk are unique and very interesting for our temps so they are quick to accept the opportunities.
Because most of our temps are active on these assignments, we have also started registering new temps.
Our active available temp list is quickly being replenishing with fully interviewed, referenced and tested professionals who are actively seeking new assignments. The added benefit is we are meeting some excellent temps who are also open to permanent roles and just enjoying the opportunity to explore the market and different roles to assist with their next career decision.
